I found this old drive-in flick to be quite fun and interesting. A Dr. and his old lady out on a sort of working honeymoon get a little more than either bargained for when he gets bit by a bat on a cave dive. Strange fits and seizures ensue, complete with weird bat dreams boy wonders. At first he is treated as if he may have contracted rabies. The truth is far worse as he begins to get worse and develop a claw-like hand from time to time. Soon bodies begin to pile up and all fingers point to our friendly Dr., though he doesn't remember a thing. The local sleazeball town sheriff knows the truth though and even tries to put the moves on the doc's wife in her time of need. What a sleaze? The final 20 minutes is classic and everyone gets what they want in the end. Everyone but our sheriff friend, he gets his ass gnawed by bats and blows his brains out. The make-ups were credited to Stanley Winston and look damn good. Cool ending that I didn't see coming (even with the beer goggles on). Great bat movie without the digital bullshit we have all become accustomed too.
