This "reimagining" of the 1980's television series, which starred Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman, is truly terrible. The producers have eliminated everything that made the original show cool. Rather than have Vincent as this lion-headed, half-man/half animal hybrid (who may have been an experiment or even a magical creature), we get a former war vet that is the victim of some experiment that makes him "Hulk-out" when he gets angry. He's a normal guy with a scar on his face and when he transforms he even looks like the Hulk. As far as Catherine Chandler, she's a cop who wants to uncover the reason for the death of her mother--and it ties in with Vincent. And instead of Vincent living in an underground village beneath New York City that looked like something out of the Middle Ages, he's simply living in an abandoned looking building with a nerdy sidekick. There's also no chemistry whatsoever between the two lead actors. The worst thing of all is that this doesn't have to do anything with the story of Beauty & The Beast because Vincent is not a beast, just a tortured guy. What worked in the original series is that Catherine was able to overlook the fact that Vincent looked like a creature from The Island of Dr. Moreau. NOT recommended.
