Another astronaut from the past gets warped to the future, this time he's searching for the last group who crashed on the Planet of the Apes. Much like Taylor from the original, James Franciscus meets a strange world where monkeys rule and people are pretty much mute goofballs. He wants to find the lost Taylor and gets help from Zira and Cornelius. What he finds Beneath is a strange group of scarred human weirdoes with ESP who worship an atomic bomb missile thing. Chuck Heston doesn't make an entrance until the end and he's being used by the group. The end hear truly looks like the end of all as the big bang gets triggered by Taylor himself after he's been shot. Most of the favorite characters are back from the original here. Nova is still hot and actually manages to sorta talk near the end... well, sorta. Good sequel all things considered with a few cool plot twists. I, for one, am glad Zira and Cornelius escaped the explosion to come pay man a visit in the 3rd movie. I guess Heston's salary was too high to be in the whole flick, but that's cool, he did enough the 1st go around. Good Stuff!
