Christopher Lambert, taking a giant acting leap from his HIGHLANDER role, portrays a sword-wielding hero who must survive an impending battle to the death. This time it's againts a demonic monster which is methodically eliminating the inhabitants of a wilderness outpost in the far, barbaric future. Although the creature, Grendel, easily kills all the humans it fights, Beowulf is a bit more difficult to kill because he's half demon-and is able to heal very quickly when he's wounded. There's a bit of gore, a scantily clad heroine who never thought she could love anyone again, and good triumping over evil as portrayed through arcade game-like computer effects.
