Shock-O-Rama
Misty Mundae is so much more fun when she keeps her clothes on. However, I do appreciate that with her cherubic good looks she is able to draw out the latent pedophilia that exists in all men; her sprightly face and waif-like figure rouses men into an irrepressibly erotic, reverse-Elektra complex. Only mama's boys who were weaned too early and crave big titties (be they milk jugs or saline reservoirs) can resist her girlish charms. Mundae and her wet-nurse compatriots work at the local strip bar, which is where most of the films action takes place (the filmmakers' strategy is really quite brilliant in its simplicity: the film's location validates the gobs of nudity). Drunk patrons with wandering hands, and herpes discharge on the brass pole pale in importance to the working girls after an infestation of mutant parasites invade the bar. After getting a taste of 'spider venom' (an incident that was preceded by an extended shower scene) Misty evolves into a Ram(bim)bo bent on fighting back and exterminating the bugs. The allure of Bite Me! is not in the titillation, but surprisingly in the comedy - both intentional and otherwise. It is without question, director Brent Piper's finest film (but what does that really say?), however most of the praise should be heaped upon the actors and actresses who manage to pull off the humor with tongues planted firmly in each other's cheeks; the mandatory nudity and faux-lesbianism, a staple in every Shock-O-Rama title accentuates rather than detracts from the ridiculous situations and quirky humor. Not much makes sense, but in a good way - were you really expecting Fellini Satyricon or Bergman's The Seventh Seal? Bite Me! is the film every future Shock-O-Rama film should aspire to be...
