This videotape consists of two episodes of the popular 70's British Television show, THE WAY BACK and SPACE FALL.In the first story we're introduced to the main character of Roj Blake, who finds out that he's been brainwashed by the government of the domed city he lives in-and that he was once a famed resistance leader. After witnessing the brutal slaying of another resistance group that has contacted him he decides to go back to his former ways. But he's put on trial for a made up crime and sentenced to a far away prison planet called Cygnus Alpha. In the second episode he's a prisoner aboard the prison transporter going to Cygnus Alpha and we're introduced to several characters that will appear as regulars in the series, who are convicts and thieves. They know that the police crew will probably eject them into space well before they reach the penal colony so they decide to take over the ship's computer. But there's another ship that's on a collision course with them, an alien ship of the kind none of them have seen before. It turns out to be the ship that they use throughout the series.Of course, this series reminds me a bit of DR WHO, just because all the interiors are shot on video and the exteriors on film. But I can definitely see where FARSCAPE got a lot of its 'inspiration' from. If you're a fan of space shows like LEX or STARGATE SG1 then you should definitely check out this series. It definitely set the groundwork.
