"Bloody Wednesday" is a moderately decent "into the mind of a schizophrenic" kind of film, though it does get quite tedious around the middle and second half. A mentally derailed mechanic begins severely tweaking' on the job and after disrupting a church congregation by waltzing in naked, he is brought to a mental facility. Due to over crowding, they release him to his brother who offers him a free stay in a run-down hotel. There, he experiences hallucinations - seeing past guests who had committed suicide, talking to his old teddy bear, being pursued by a gang of angry thugs, and desperately searching for a hidden suitcase full of jewels... Unfortunately, this "nutty" character is NOT that interesting or menacing and the bulk of the movie seemed like a blatant "Shining" knock-off while failing to move along at a suitable pace. It's often unclear what is real and what is solely in his mind - like his estranged ex-wife (and her demise) and some other blond chick he starts dating. Just a little too much dubiousness on that end which made this one a little "plain". However, the real selling point was definitely the ending which depicts a restaurant shooting spree - suspiciously reminiscent of James Huberty's McDonalds massacre, back in '84. This scene is surprisingly savage and unforgiving. As a whole, "Bloody Wednesday" is nothing exceptional, but I have seen a lot worse...
