Tom Sizemore headlines this man-in-a-monster-suit movie, in which he portrays a custodian who stumbles upon a government experiment in the depths of an abandoned hospital.
It all starts when a horribly burned billionaire convinces a scientist to bring him his recent regeneration serum, which has not been tested on humans. He has his thugs inject it into the scientist but they neglect to leave him some bags of liquid protein, which he needs. Otherwise, whatever he eats he will take on its attributes. Unfortunately, because he's locked in an underground passageway, this food happens to be rats - and he quickly transforms into a carnivorous man-rat, which Sizemore and his custodial crew encounter.
There's the evil rich guy who gets what he deserves, the masochistic government operatives, the anti-hero who happens to have some handy skills for wiring bombs, and your usual stock characters, including a homeless guy, who simply add to the body count.
BOTTOM FEEDER is a good, old-fashioned monster movie but THE RELIC it ain't.
