This movie was nasty... real nasty. I loved it! Sure, you know what's gonna happen soon as that trapper gets blood in the eye from some tore up dog and the college kids head off for that weekend get away, but it sure was a lot of fun watching what happens! This thing is bloody as hell and pretty violent. The ending is a N.O.L.D. rip-off for sure in one way, but still ends up being fun in it's own way. Let's face it, kill-joys can cry different all they want, it's been a damn good year for theatrically released horror, a strong year. We've had less PC bullshit and more blood, guts, tits, and foul language than in recent years. Is it a renaissance? I doubt it, but enjoy while you can. Cabin Fever offers all you want in the blood category. The flesh-eating bug these folks catch is pure nasty, the blood puking stuff will make you laugh or wince depending on your tastes. There are two very nice soft sex scenes with a hot brunette who shows that incredible body very well. I love her answer to the doomsday question, we should all be stranded in the woods and infected with someone so caring. Cabin Fever has a lot of funny scenes to keep you watching until the virus breaks loose. My biggest complaint here was that it takes a little while to get things moving, but it ends up being well worth it. We've had two great movies this year based on viruses. I liked this better than 28 Days Later, don't know why, just did. Sure it has some pitfalls and cliche's and immature moments, but as far as entertainment value, it's got a lot more of that. It's stylish, looks good, and has plenty of red, what's not to love here?
