I'm always wary when I come across a movie I've never heard of that has a great video box cover...and this is a prime example why. A group of scientists, working on a new biological weapon/creature for the government, have made their lab in the 'old Romero' house, in a room hidden behind the movable fireplace. Although this creature is suppossed to be a ferocious man-killer the scientist overseeing the project treats it like a fluffy kitten. When it's time to give it a shot he opens the vault-like cage it's housed in, peers in and tells it to come to him. It sticks out a clawed human-like hand--and then retracts it like it's teasing him. What it does do is spear him in the chest with the needle--and he dies. Guess that wasn't a good idea opening the cage! Of course, the creature escapes the lab but for some reason the monster can't leave the house, even though there are plenty of windows half-assedly boarded up like in a zombie movie (why?).Of course, a group of kids, wanting to party, break in to this old house and are hunted down by the monster. Blah blah blah. As for the monster itself it looks like a cross between a CRITTER and a cheap ape-suit, though not as terrifying as the latter. All in all a very insulting movie--predictable, stereotypical story, little plausibility, bad casting, bad acting and goofy effects. Not remotely entertaining. This movie bites!
