Kim Delaney (METAL BEAST, BODY PARTS) portrays a wheelchair bound horror author who is being taunted by a serial killer mimicking the killer in her latest book. Several years before she encountered a similar incident-and that's the reason she's in the wheelchair. The killer had her trapped up on a balcony and she chose to jump thirty-feet to the ground rather then get stabbed to death. Now she lives in a secluded house in the Pacific Northwest and communicates with everyone via emails and direct-satellite feeds. When the new killings start to happen the FBI comes in to investigate. The head of the task force turns out to be her former lover, whom she hadn't seen since she became crippled. She had broken off all contact with him, putting her old life behind her. But when the FBI sets up base in her house she has to deal with those old feelings and fears. She rekindles her romance as the killer suredly makes his way across the country, to where she lives. The ending of this movie took me by surprise-I did not expect the serial killer to be who it was. CLOSER AND CLOSER deals with familiar material, reminding me of THE DARK HALF and COPYCAT, yet is entertaining enough to be worth a viewing.
