A family from the city (Dennis Quaid, Sharon Stone and two kids) move out to a large old house in the countryside. They encounter the previous owner of the house (Stephen Dorf), who was in prison and had lost it to the bank. The husband stupidly hires him, as the guy seems to radiate the word 'threat'. After the family is terrorized by all these different kind of snakes, they fire him and then the trouble begins. Quaid finds some evidence that he may have killed his family and buried the bodies so he does some investigating. It turns out that this is the case and he and his wife are almost killed by the guy when he traps them on the roof. They win, and he falls to his death in typical Hollywood fashion. This is a long boring movie with absolutely no suspense whatsoever. I can't even call it a thriller.
