In the spirit of Tales From The Crypt comes this Brimstone Productions indy film gem. Demon's Wake sports two films in one, directed by Tim Thomson and Micheal Legge. It also sports lots of cool mythological overtones mixed with modern day courtroom drama, albeit unconventional. A woman is accused of murdering and eating her husband, and it is up to her attorney to help clear her name and prove that demons made her do it, and what better source for help than the demons themselves. Its the first time in recorded history, that I know of, that the murder victim was called to the stand as a character witness for the defendant. This film is well written and well acted in a light-hearted yet dark-minded method which meshes very well. The second story was not as good as the first, but the trial story is enough reason alone to watch this film. One of the best indy films I have ever seen.
