The Martian witch looks like the zombie chick from RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 3, as do all the others with their facial scars and piercings. C.Thomas Howell is the commander of a corporate funded Mars expedition. He and his crew crash land near one of the 'pyramids' and discover that it is actually a real pyramid. A door opens and the go inside, to be soon attacked by these Stargate-looking warriors. Some of the astronauts are killed, others are captured by two different societies. Howell is befriended by the Martian queen, who looks like the zombie chick from RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 3, as do all the others with their facial scars and piercings.They discover that humans are the result of Martians who had cross-breeded with Neanderthals and that there will either be an alliance between the two worlds-or an invasion.The underground city and forests are cool but I found the whole story a bit too stereotypical, like something from a 30's Pulp magazine, which is fine if that is what this movie is supposed to be.
