This animated short (30 minutes) successfully bridges the gap between PITCH BLACK and THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK. Immediately after the events in the first movie, the small ship containing the three survivors-Riddick, Jack and Abu-- are picked up by a gigantic merc ship run by a psychotic collector by the name of Chillingsworth. She collects killers, placing them in a form of suspended animation and positioning them like sculptures for her to look at.Well, Riddick doesn't want to be another of her knick knacks so he makes for an escape-and tries to take down as many of the mercenaries along the way as possible. He also has to rescue his two friends from being killed by these strange looking alien creatures. The animation is just like the AEON FLUX cartoons from the 90's (also directed by Peter Chung) and much of the backgrounds and exterior spaceships are computer animated. And, believe it or not, Vin Diesel is even uglier as a cartoon...If you're a fan of the RIDDICK movies you won't be disappointed. There's plenty of action, gore and wise-cracks.
