It's eight years after the events of The Dark Knight. A crippled Bruce Wayne is now a bearded recluse and he's given up being Batman. Then, a cat burglar breaks into his mansion and steals his mother's pearls. This piques his interest. There's a villain, Bane, who was trained by the same man, Ras Al Ghul, who trained him, an this guy wants to destroy Gotham with an atomic bomb. Bane is this muscled bald guy with a gas-mask on his face. And there's a love interest for Bruce Wayne that turns out to be a traitor. I found this exceedingly boring and, like the Dark Knight, doesn't seem like a Batman movie at all. There's too much brooding and talking. This was successful in diminishing the character.
