One thing that never seems to die in movie world is the slasher genre. Big screen, small screen, video screen, it don't matter. Where there's a HALLOWEEN or FRIDAY THE 13th fan with a camcorder, there's another slash flick to be reckoned with. This one isn't too bad. Our masked lunatic in this third episode of video movies is now locked up in an asylum. A group of satanic individuals want to break him out to complete some kind of mumbo-jumbo sacrifice deal. Then there's the main plot with a college gal doing some kind of report on the killer, ol' J.R. Sorg. It's here where the movie shines best, when we see some of the videotape research that the student digs up. We get to see interviews with individuals who were affected by this killer in various ways, including Tina Krause as his ex-lover. While these scenes were fun and not the norm, they reminded me heavily of another slasher movie with a 'Part 3' in the title: SCREAMING FOR SANITY, TRUTH OR DARE PART 3, which came out years ago. This movie was VERY similar, with the plot in the forefront and the killer in the background (until he goes on the required murder spree) and just the way all the characters relate to the killer on video.Personally, I like my slasher movies straight up without all the emotion, but hey, there's only so many ways to tell the incarcerated killer tale, right? The highlight of the movie is the scene with the nekkid girl pleasing herself outside. You'll wear your REWIND and PAUSE button out on this sequence, no doubt. Not since THE TOOL BOX MURDERS have we seen this kind of sex, sleaze, and blood, so all is not lost.Director Ryan Cavalline shows some talent and knows how to direct a movie, but there's not much new here, even with the added story(s). There are plenty of cameos by B-video directors, there's plenty of skin, an abundance of blood, and three actresses named Lilith Stabs, Tina Krause, and Amy Lynn Best. So there's more reasons to watch this movie than not.Carry on.
