This newest Charles Band movie is very much influenced by Kubrick's THE SHINING,which he readily admits in the "extras" - and that's about all it really has going for it. A young man inherits an old abandoned casino out in Nevada and he and his friends go out to check it out. Of course, it's haunted by some shady characters who end up killing everyone except this guy and his girlfriend (Robin Sydney of RIGHT TO DIE, BIG BAD WOLF, GINGERDEAD MAN). She again stands out as an actress to keep an eye on, as I barely recognized her from those other three movies. The characters and her look are that different.
Oh, and there's a brief cameo by Michael Berryman, which was cool. My favorite special effect was the skull headed zombie that had the slot-machine card eye sockets. That was creepy.
