There's new owner of the Death Race franchise and he wants to change the rules. Frankenstein (Luke Goss) has had plastic surgery and is no longer hideously scarred. They repaired his flesh because it was infected. His friends discover he's alive after he helps them during riot and his mask comes off.
The race is taken to a prison in the Kalahari Desert in Africa. The day before the race, to spike up ratings, they have a "Navigator Death Match", in which the female co-pilots (including Frankenstein's girlfriend) have to fight to the death. The car race is across the barren desert. To prevent any of the prisoners from escaping, a homing device is implanted in all of their necks. If they take off a missile is fired--and blows them up.
I like this as much as the first prequel. There's a brilliant twist ending that's both clever and satisfying. Highly recommended if you enjoyed the first DEATH RACE film.
