This is similar to another UK made horror movie, THE BUNKER. Rather than take place during WWII from the German point-of-view, this film is set in the trenches of WWI and involves a group of English soldiers preyed upon by evil. It also has a much higher budget and better production value.After they flee from poison gas, the soldiers walk through fog and come upon a German dug trench. Everyone is dead except for a few surviving German officers. It also looks like they had killed each other in violent ways, which is very puzzling.The soldiers decide to stay in the trench and wait for more troops to arrive, which is a huge mistake. For something starts messing with their minds, reanimating corpses, making them hear things that aren't there. One by one they start killing themselves off, just as the Germans had done. There are lots of mud encrusted corpses, cringing special effects involving barbed-wire and a great deal of suspense in DEATH WATCH. Watch it.
