This Argento classic is a bit different from his other films in my opinion. The 'Italian Hitchcock' style isn't as prominent in this film. This is a straight-up gory, dark, funny, evil movie. There's really no mystery about this film at all, no serious plot line, no dramatic performances. Just demons killing a lot of people in a huge gothic theater. One of my favorite all-time campy movies, and it's done brilliantly. We've got blood, guts, bad lighting, a pimp, sluts, a guy with a metal face, demons, punks, preps, a blind guy, cocaine and nipples, samurai swords, motorcycles, a great soundtrack, and on top of all that you get to see a lot of the horror flick the people in the theater are watching. (The one that releases the demons) So you get two for one! Although extremely predictable, including the twist ending, this movie is priceless. Truly one of Argento's best films, just for it's ability to stand out, I highly recommend this one for any day of the week.
