Richard Crenna and Yvette Mimieux decide to get their kids a new puppy dog. But little do they realize that the dog is really a demon. Their maid warns them that the pooch is possessed and then she mysteriously dies. Then, the wife and the kids start to practice strange occult ceremonies. The husband learns that the dog is a Barghest, a demon dog which has captured the souls of his family. He goes to Ecuador and finds out how to dispose of the monster. This is one of those movies that is better than it sounds, like ZOLTAN: HOUND OF DRACULA or FROGS. Directed by Curtis Harrington.
