This short-run series is far less spectacular than the higher budgetted mini-series based on James Gurney's DINOTOPIA books. It continues that story of a father and his two sons stranded on an island where people and talking dinosaurs (well, they've evolved since 75 million years ago) live together. The series also introduces 'The Outsiders', those who don't like the dinosaurs and live like bandits in this cliffside castle. Their leader is LeSage (Lisa Zane of FREDDY'S DEAD, ROAR), and she's the best character in the series because she's unpredictable. The best episode is a time-travel one, where one of the brothers is forced to repeat the same scene over and over again until he 'does the right thing'. The best scenes are when the T-Rexs eat people. There's also a 'behind-the-scenes' included in the 3 dvd set, though this is may be confusing as it's narrated by one of the actor brothers from the mini-series, who was replaced by another actor in the series.
