A Scottish werewolf pic in which no one is drunk or being a soccer hooligan? Wow! Neil Marshall's take on werewolves, military secrets, and family fun kicks ass. I'd say this is the best lycanthropic movie I've seen since Gingersnaps a few years back. Like the werewolf genre gets a lot of play. What's Hollywood done, Cursed? The story here make sense, the FX are gory as hell, and I like the look of the creatures after transformation. They remind me of the werewolves in the howling a lot and that's a good thing. While plenty of cliche's pop up, and you can see what's gonna happen near the end coming, it's still enjoyable viewing getting there. With this movie and The Descent, Marshall becomes a director to watch and keep up with. Like the mayor of Halloween Town in A Nightmare Before Christmas, I fully endorse it!
