Paul Schrader's (CAT PEOPLE) version is finally released from Dimension Films. Although it is clearly better than Renny Harlin's version--there's more of a story, better character development of the priest, and more realistic special effects--it's not as good as the other two EXCORCIST sequels (Hey, I like THE HERETIC!). Still, it's worth checking out just to see how two different directors came up with two completely different takes on Father Merrick's beginnings dealing with the devil.
