As with the INVINCIBLE IRON MAN animated movie earlier this year, this Marvel small screen adaptation is too bogged down by a bunch of other crap going on, rather than concentrating on the character/origins of the primary superhero. Dr. Stephen Strange is an egocentric neurosurgeon who is in it for the fame and money. He was unable to save his younger sister through surgery when he first became a doctor and that has haunted him his whole life. After he gets in a car accident and his hands are terribly damaged he tries to find a cure - and spends his fortune. Finally, he's approached by a mysterious man and told to go to Tibet. He does - but he doesn't find an immediate cure for his hands. He's recruited into harnessing his own latent powers to fight on the side of good.
I liked the animation and the back-story of Dr. Strange was good. There was simply too many obvious things, such as when one of the characters goes 'to the dark side'. This is better than IRON MAN but worse than the two ULTIMATE AVENGERS movies.
