Two Australian couples go to Tasmania in search of surviving Thylacines or "Tasmanian Tigers", a wolf-sized carnivorous marsupial that is believed to have died out in the 1920's. They travel to the same area where the sister of one of them disappeared years before. This also happens to be near a small isolated town that is inhabited by the descendants of an infamous cannibal.
Although the movie is along the lines of LAKE DEAD, HILLS HAVE EYES and numerous other mutant/cannibal movies, DYING BREED remains an interesting movie, primarily because of the backstory. I've never seen a horror movie about Thylacines before. Recommended.
