In order to cure his dying mother of her disease a young fighter named Sun needs to obtain the cure from a rare book guarded by Shaolin monks. He completes three different contests and is allowed to borrow the book-but it doesn't cure his mother-it kills her. Angry, he goes back and confronts them. It turns out that one of the monks was evil and substituted a fake for the real one. There's also a story about an old master who has perfected the 'Flying Guillotine' weapon and kills anyone who comes his way. He lives in a hidden valley, like a hermit, because its healing vapors keep him alive, from his bad heart. An evil prince wants to hire him to teach the flying guillotine to his soldiers-and the only way the prince can 'convince' him is to offer him that rare book the monks had. You see, that evil monk was hired by the evil prince to take the book and replace it with a forgery. Eventually the two stories converge-and Sun and the old master fight to the death. Little does either realize, however, that they are father and son. Although not quite as violent as the other FLYING GUILLOTINE movie I've seen there's plenty of decapitations, fighting and death to go around.
