I managed to get my hands on the version of this film before A-Pix got a chance to butcher it too bad, and I was pleased. Written by Ron Ford, this psychological thriller asks the question, 'What scares you?' A psych student gathers a group of his friends for an experiment in fear for his college thesis. The stage is set in the house where he grew up...and incidentally, where he witnessed his mom's murder. He challenges his friends to confront their fears by telling them aloud to a wooden dummy named Morty... but he ain't no pinocchio. Morty comes to life and is helping bring everyone's fears to life as well. Very little blood, and brief nudity contained herein, but well written and well acted...plus enough psychological horror to keep you entertained. You'll wonder what is real and what is not as you watch... and if Morty is on the side of good or evil.
