A depressed former-rock musician wakes up to find the dead body of a stripped girl lying face down in his bathtub. Confused and scared - he desperately tries to get in touch with his ex-girlfriend, though he eventually confides in his good drinking buddy who suggests dismemberment... All the while, his unbalanced mind, constant pill-popping, and isolated life style causes him to fall into destitute slump of despair and madness.
"Fell" is an interesting independent psychological drama with an adequately unique, experimental 'edge'. It's a very low-key interpretation of a single character's advancing insanity that is exceptionally intimate and engaging throughout. The movie bares a strange yellowish tone and makes use of oblique camera angles and editing that helps to distort the character's grip on reality more and more. My one complaint would be that the ending is far too predictable, but otherwise "Fell" works well as a very minimalist light horror/drama with good performances and grippingly slow-burn.
