The DVD box artwork for this direct-to-video movie implies that it's along the lines of such "baby" movies as ROSEMARY'S BABY, when it's really about a new mother (Elisabeth Shue) who is going insane.
One day she finds out she's pregnant and soon afterwards she and her husband buy a large house outside of New York City. After she gives birth, she becomes both forgetful and obsessed by her child, putting the infant in some hazardous situations. And with such movies involving children, such as THE ASTRONAUT'S WIFE and BIRTH, she cuts off all of her long blonde hair.
The movie is somewhat predictable but is worth seeing for the ending alone because it's so atypical for an American movie. I would not recommend that expectant mothers watch this, though, for obvious reasons.
