The Hughes Bros. do a decent take on the Jack the Ripper story in this film. I found the overall plot interesting and the conspiracy story fairly involved. Always new them Freemason assholes were no good, been telling folks for years. This film is proof positive. Johnny Depp plays a decent role as usual and Heather Graham doesn't pop her top again (those days are gone I guess, damn it!). She still looks hot for a crab infested dirty prostitute though. The rest of the whores look like the London street trash they are. In fact the sets and costumes were pretty impressive and captured the period well. If you want blood, well, there's a little bit here. For the most part the gore is off screen, however the murders are brutal enough without seeing red as proof. How close was this movie to the truth? Like the Tootsie Pop commercials use to say, 'The world may never know.'
