This is a tame, slight comedy about the legend of St. George and the Dragon, starring James Purefoy (ROME) as warrior George and Piper Perabo (THE CAVE, BULLWINKLE) as the Princess Luma. Michael Clarke Duncan (GREEN MILE) shines as Tarik, the Moor warrior who is George's best friend. There's also a five-minute cameo by Val Kilmer (ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU) as an evil knight. The premise is that the king's daughter is missing and everyone is trying to find her, including the man she is promised to marry (a weird looking Patrick Swayze). George finds her hiding out in a cave, protecting the last dragon egg. George wants to destroy it and tries a few times, only to be knocked out by the princess. The big failing of the movie is the dragons, which are very cartoon-looking. I suspect they ran out of budget and have to make do with some bargain-basement effects.
