Twenty-years ago it was inconceivable that someone would even attempt to adapt Jack Ketchum's infamous book into a movie, but with the advent of the 'torturorr' (torture-horror) movie in recent years, times have finally caught up with it'and maybe even surpassed it. Compared to such fare as the SAW movies it's not quite so horrifying as when I originally read the book. Yes, it is a faithful and well-produced adaptation of the novel but I think it was made twenty-years too late.
