This new Toho Godzilla movie clearly establishes it apart from the 90's series of movies, starting with flashbacks of the revised-looking Godzilla in the 50's and 60's. This time the Godzilla task force has come up with a possible new way of destroying the Big G, by creating a small black hole that would suck him in. Unfortunately, the initial experiments with the process released these huge insects from 'the other side' insects that will eventually grow into the giant monster Magaguiras that Godzilla will battle by the film's end. The editing is much quicker paced than GODZILLA 2000 and the effects much slicker--and it's always a plus when Godzilla is fighting another monster to the death. This is perhaps one of the best Godzilla movies made.
