Kate Hudson is hot, as hot as mom Goldie Hawn in her prime, and she's not so shy about showing off her nekkid bod. That's the first cool thing about GOOD PEOPLE. Second good thing is the story. Hudson and James Franco play a struggling, cliche "good" couple who are struggling to make ends meet and having severe financial problems. (Aren't we all? Seems this plot point is in a lot of movies these days and everyone can relate to it!) They also want to have a family and are struggling to get pregnant. Financially, though, things are so bad that they're almost going to get evicted out of their digs. When the tenant to a basement room they were renting out for extra cash dies from a heroin overdose, the GOOD PEOPLE discover a loot of cash that the deceased tenant stashed away. This begs the question from the viewer----WHAT WOULD YOU DO? What would ANY of us do? Turn the money over to the police? Keep it? Take some, turn some of it over to the police? Well, I know what I'd do and you probably know what you'd do, and this GOOD COUPLE waits for a month or so to see if any next of kin come forward to claim anything, but they don't, so...what they hell? Finders keepers, loser weepers, right? They begin to spend the money in a discreet manner to improve their lives. Things are looking up, but note to self, if someone dies of a heroin overdose and leaves a bag of money around, DON'T KEEP IT. First the cops come sniffing around, sure that there's more to the situation than meets the eye, and suddenly, there's very vile and crazed drug dealers looking for the cash that this junkie tenant stole from them, and of course, they can't help but suspect Hudson and Franco, despite them being such GOOD PEOPLE! Of course there's home invasions, near rapes, beatings, and violence all around our good couple and when they go to the cops for help, well, turns out most of them are on the bad guy's payroll as well, so they end up trying to set up Wes Craven style booby traps for our baddies in an end confrontation. Will it work? This one was suspenseful, fun, and fast paced, I really liked it. Also identified with the struggling couple and again, Kate Hudson, oh wow she's so curvaceous and attractive and casually flaunts her stuff in the name of her art. I hope daddy Snake Plissken doesn't come after me for drooling over her, but she brings the movie up another notch in watchability! Definitely worth a look.
