This summer you'll get to see a novel new film idea called Lake Placid. Well, actually you won't (at least I doubt it)! You see there have been many great giant croc & alligator flicks made before. The better ones of course done in Italy. This is a good example. Directed by Sergio Martino and starring a hot looking Barbara Bach (damn I never new she looked that hot when younger, no wonder Ringo forgot about the Beetles). The Great Alligator in here is really a tribe of natives' river god (or some sembalance thereof) and when he gets mad the natives get restless. The horrible resort hotel owners & guests have to pay the price of course! Huge body count in this one folks and that wacky gator is the only one having fun. The effects were ok. Sometimes the reptile looks good, other times cheesy as hell. But the blood flows in great quantity. I love the ending of this one also! A classic movie of sorts! Hope you can see it sometime!
