A group of college kids, all who look like they are thirty-something, are holding the annual Halloween Haunted House. The guy running it, who is also head of a Fraternity, is a total asshole-and it's very unlikely that people would actually listen to this guy. He's too nasty. Also, one of the guys is in a dilemma because both his new girlfriend and old girlfriend are working alongside him. Again, unlikely. And it turns out that his old girlfriend has newly discovered lesbianism and is making it with one of the other women. Okay, why is it that in every recent, low-budget horror movie they think they have to have a lesbian scene? To make it worse, the scene and interaction ('Am I a lesbian, am I not a lesbian?') is clearly written by a guy who knows absolutely nothing about the subject. The story itself plays like NIGHT OF THE DEMONS crossed with that Halloween episode of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER where the Scooby Gang turn into what their costumes are. Here, spells from an ancient Satanic book are read and everyone starts transforming into various creatures, from a Pirate to a redneck to a vampire. The movie ends with everyone dying except the one guy and his ex-lesbian girlfriend, who in the end has the same book and is thinking of bringing her slain lover back to life (reminding me VERY much of the end of the first RE-ANIMATOR movie). Well, director Jon Keeyes probably did the best he could with the script by Chris Burdick but that still doesn't excuse this extremely unoriginal horror movie. I hope the guy never writes another movie. Crap like this damages the genre.
