A detective (Lou Daimond Phillips) pursues a serial killer known as 'The Hangman' who gets his name from playing the game hangman with the police. He kidnaps a woman then calls the police, asking which letters they should pick. If they make more than six mistakes he kills his victim. Also helping track down this killer is a former psychiatrist (Madchen Amick), who may be his next victim. But all is not as it seems about this Hangman and the detective must figure out what's really going on.
