Three college-age New York City girls decide to go up to a cabin in the woods to get away from it all, which is a mistake since they cross paths with what appears to be a satanic murderer--or perhaps, a demon in the flesh. Although somewhat BLAIR-WITCHish in style (you can't help but make that comparison), there's more of a feeling of dread and desperation created here, particularly when the first girl to fall gets chopped with an ax. It's more like THE BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW in terms of feel. The other two women try and figure how to survive but they realize the foe they are up against is not human--at one point they see an inhumanely clawed hand at the window. I was glued to the set with this movie and was blown away by the ending, which surprised me. Directed by Sal Ciavarello.
