Hello fellow fiends! Been gone working on graduate work, but that's done for now, and I can focus on what's important, Horror!
Last Tuesday while browsing Amazon, I saw that Hatchet 2 had been released. I flew from my house like a bat out of Hell to the local store snatched the Blu-Ray and a 12 pack and went back into my cave to watch it with the enthusiasm of a football fan on Super bowl Sunday! Hodder, Todd, Danielle Harris (hot), and gore like an Italian zombie flick, I was psyched. But then I noticed something, It simply was not that good.
1. Adam Green apparently has an extremely high opinion of himself to put his own name before the creation. Thus "Adam Green's Hatchet 2". If you are Hitchcock, Fulci, Lucas, or even Cameron fine, but Green while novel, simply aint that good, not even the same zip code.
2. So Victor Crowley is a free repeater ghost (thank you Dr. Venkman) which pretty much can explain any horror icon. He is going to continue to show up. That sucks. I am sorry, but it does.
I am not going to spoil the bore for anyone, but this steaming pile of disappointment should have been left on the shelf. I loved the original, and as I Die hard Jason fan I had to wonder if Crowley would kick Jason's ass. I was actually bored with this film. Danielle Harris is a good scream queen, and Tony Todd still thinks he is the Candy man. Todd never did break out of that mode of acting thus the typecast. Hell Green even throws in a shameless cross over promotion for Frozen, a superior film than this by far, but still shameless. If you are bored, drunk, stoned or all three, throw this one in. What the hell. But don't blame me!

What the Hell folks? I should have saved 8 bucks and bought the DVD. Just a note to Dark Sky, this is NOT HD quality! Did they think Fuck It; horror fans won't notice the difference? The blacks were dull and muted. The colors looked washed out, it just blows overall. Take a lesson from Blue Underground, or the 1st class treatment of Halloween (1978). Jesus I was robbed on this one.

Average, Average, Average. Come the fuck on People! This is a brand new release, put down the pipe and get to work! It obvious the post production crew associated with this picture don't know their craft. Go back to school.
