Twenty years ago, Melissa witnessed the murder of her father at the hands of Hellinger, the restless soul of an estranged priest who was blinded by the gates of heaven. To this day, Melissa's vision of her father's death and her fear of the dark continue to haunt her. Elsewhere in the city, a slasher is on the loose and the police enlist the help of Melissa's cousin, and notorious bounty hunter, Kendall Ransom. He finds himself in the middle of Melissa's struggle with her sanity and with Hellinger. This psychological horror film from Massimiliano (Max) Cerchi packs a great storyline as well as an overall dark and creepy feel. There are few kill scenes, but all are fairly bloody and extreme with great special effects. The dialogue tended to drag at times, but not enough to bring the film to a halt. Give credit to the cast who all did a good job bringing their characters to life and keeping the mood of the film dark. Overall, this is a good addition to the Indy horror genre, and a great directing effort by Cerchi to help the film exude evil. Well worth watching.
