This installment of the Hellraiser franchise begins with two friends who are partying and videotaping their exploits. They get the hellraiser puzzle box and bring forth Pinhead--and it's captured on tape. Then, later, we go to the missing guy's family. The mother is a wreck, the girlfriend wants to know what's on the tape--so she watches it. The family argues amongst themselves the movie cuts back an forth to them and Pinhead. He's transforming the son into a cenobite.
As a sequel this is just "okay", though I found it distracting that Doug Bradley did not reprise his role as Pinhead. It just doesn't work with another actor and that casting damaged the overall effect of the movie.
