At the beginning of the movie we are introduced to a bunch of dancers who are auditioning for a gig in Malaysia. It's a weird audition with a wide variety of women--some are strippers, others are ballet dancers. The guy who hires them is named Gary. Unfortunately, on the way there, the plane catches fire and crashes nose-first into the Pacific Ocean. Fortunately, they all survive and make it to a nearby island. There's fresh water and even a cabin. But when they open the door and walk in they find an old guy suspended in the middle of a huge spider web. Gary reads his diary and tells the women that this guy was a scientist and discovered Uranium on the island. He also reads that he had a premonition that something was going to happen to him and that he always heard a weird hissing noise since he'd been there. The group also wonders how the guy died. Well, what do they think made that gigantic spider web and put him in it?
Gary soon finds this out when he goes exploring and is bit by a really weird looking spider that's the size of a cat. Immediately he begins to transform into this sort of were-spider and begins terrorizing the women. Two guys in a boat show up and when they see all the women think they're in heaven. But they must also contend with the monster.
I think I would have enjoyed the MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 version much better.
