Jessica is a young blonde woman who has weird nightmares about a horse-headed monster. Then, she gets a call from her aloof mother that her grandmother has died. She returns home, and once there, begins to try to find out why she's had these upsetting, lucid dreams all of her life. Soon, she starts having nightmares in which she interacts with a young version of her deceased grandmother.
HORSEHEAD is a gorgeously shot, moody movie, which reminded me of some early Argento films. However, it's also one of those films in which you don't know what's really going on--and aren't given any satisfying answers. The best part are those nightmare sequences--and the horse creature, blowing steam out its nose and having huge, clawed hands, is extremely threatening. Recommended.
