This is a clever animated movie that features comical variations of the "Classic Universal Monsters". It begins one hundred and eighteen years ago, with Count Dracula (voice of Adam Sandler) caring for his newborn daughter, Mavis. He's in the midst of having a resort constructed, a haven where monsters can be safe from humans. A hundred and eighteen years later he's preparing for his daughter's birthday party when a hiking human stumbles upon the place. He tries to get rid of him but circumstances force him to disguise the boy as "Frankenstein's cousin" and pawn him off as a party planner. Mavis falls for him, which brings up a lot of issues. He believes humans only want to kill monsters--and that's what he's always instilled in all the other creatures. But this may no longer be true...
Hotel Transylvania is basically an updated version of Mad Monster Party.
