What have we here...a horror movie based on a blood video game. Seems like a good idea right? Wrong. This movie was quite disappointing. Some dumbass college kids are headed off to an island retreat for some huge rave party, apparently one that is being sponsored by Sega of all companies...hmmm. They contract some salty sailor named Captain Kirk and his igorish sidekick (played by the handsome Clint Howard) to take them to this island rave. The group consists of some rich, narcissistic male underwear model, some other dudes and a few hot chicks. But, like all good rave parties, there are zombies killing off the patrons. I never played the video game much, but I assume parts of the storyline are derived straight from it..but who knows. They even managed to throw in periodic screenshots from the game...how annoying. One good thing this flick had going for it was some of the females. A few of the chicks dropped their tops, so the T&A was there. There was also a good amount of blood flowing in some scenes. It had the 3 B's I like to say.... boobs, blood and bad acting....I mean bad acting. And what was up with these kids? They were simple college kids and then all of the sudden they become weapon wielding, martial arts kicking, zombie killing experts. If I see one more flick use that Matrix style fighting crap I am going to wretch. Aside from there being zombies, not even sure if this qualifies as a horror movie...more like an action film from hell. If you are into that type of thing, then see it if you want, but I don't recommend it.
