As much as I liked Jeff Leroy's recent HELL'S HIGHWAY I really disliked HUNTING SEASON. The problem is that it is suppossed to take place in Pennsylvania but it's clearly the California hills (the terrain is different) and neither of the three script writers have obviously been deer hunting, as these hunters do everything they are suppossed to do wrong. There's alsocharacters who are bird watching and camping, but deer hunting happens during cold weather in Pennsylvania and none of those people would be doing those things, particularly during hunting season. The effects are acceptable except for these really fake looking rabbits that are obviously stuffed animals covered in blood. Anyway, the premise is that these deer hunters attack a couple who are camping--beat the crap out of the guy and gang bang the woman. It just so happens that she is a bow and arrow hunter--so the next day she goes back to hunt them all down. But she doesn't have a bow and arrow--it's a crossbow! Never heard of anyone huntin with one of those! Ultimately she kills them all--but there's a twist ending seen coming from a mile away.
