At the turn of the 19th Century an anthropology professor, Prof Ivarsson (David Hartman), is recruited to find a rich man's son, who has vanished in the arctic. The only thing the father has to go on is a page from a journal and a strange map. He believes it may lead to the mythical "graveyard of whales". So, equipped with a huge dirigible they fly to the Arctic and embark on a harrowing journey. What they find is a civilization of vikings that has remained unchanged for over a 1000 years. And this is where the long lost son is. But they are fearful of strangers and their appearance upsets the evil priest, who wants to have them all killed.
This is an entertaining adventure flick and has the feel of Jules Verne's THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND and AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS. Recommended.
