I had not heard much about this film leading up to watching it. The story line seemed to have promise... so I went in with no preconceptions at all. Hell, I even figured that with Adrian Brody and the sexy Keira Knightly starring in it that I would actually like it. Maybe I should have done more research before wasting a few hours of my life on this one. Ok... maybe wasting is too strong of a word. It did actually have a few things to offer, but not enough to make it enjoyable. The premise, which seemed cool, revolves around Brody having amnesia and being involved in some rather odd experiments. He is able to see the future under certain conditions. Namely conditions such as being strapped into a straightjacket and being drugged up a little. He is thrust into the year 2007 and finds out he died back in 1993. However cool that may sound, the plot moved along so slowly that you forgot about the premise and were just waiting for it to be over. As with most slow paced movies, the plot had quite a few gaping holes to jump over... or fall into. The acting was pretty good and the filmmaking was fairly dark and creepy... but that was not enough to save this one. It had time travel elements, creepy elements and even a little nudity... so it might be worth a rental for those reasons alone. Just make sure you read up on it a little and know what to expect... so you don't expect too much.
